A Delegation from the University of Zakho Participated in the Final Conference of APPRAIS Project in Erbil

On October 3, 2023, a delegation from the University of Zakho participated in the APPRAIS final conference hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (KRG) and the Italian organization UNIMED in Erbil.  The delegation consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Karwan F. Sami, Dr. Dler A. Jameel, the Director of Quality Assurance, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dildar H. Ahmad, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ramadhan J. Mustafa, Vice President for Students Affairs, and Dr. Nizar, I. Ali, Director of International Relations.

Primarily, APPRAIS Project through the cooperation with European Institutions focuses on improving the governance system of Higher Education Institutions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, promoting capacities on quality assurance, supporting the implementation of Bologna Process and adopting the university reform.

Additionally, the final conference centered on reviewing and analyzing all the activities and accomplishments done by the project and its partners, as well as discussing the future sustainability of the project.  

Moreover, impressive seminars were delivered by the delegates of the University of Zakho, starting with Asst. Prof. Dr. Dler A. Jameel, stressing on the software quality of APPRAIS project and its beneficial aspects. Also, participated in a panel to talk about the strategies and plans of the 8 Kurdish universities, and signed the sustainability plan with the aim of adopting and implementing the project in the coming years.

The next seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Karwan F. Sami on the APPRAIS MOOC. Then, Dr. Nizar, I. Ali, delivered his seminar on TOT part of the project.

 

Eventually, the MOHESR KRG has encouraged several Iraqi Universities to adopt the European higher education model, supporting therefore the implementation of the Bologna Process.
